Personnel: James M. Rush

James M. Rush primarily practices in insurance defense and civil litigation. James was born in 1953 in Shreveport, Louisiana and received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976, and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1980. He was licensed in 1980, and admitted to practice in Texas, U.S. District Court - Western District and U.S. Court of Military Appeals. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law.

After becoming licensed to practice, James went into active duty in the United States Marine Corps where he performed legal activities, including prosecutor and defense counsel. He also served a tour as Company Commander for Headquarters Company, 5th Marines before receiving an honorable discharge in 1987. He joined the firm shortly after leaving the Marine Corps.

Having grown up in Odessa, James enjoys the opportunity to provide service to the community. He has served as president of the Ector Bar Association, and currently serves as the president of the Board of Directors for the Parker House Ranching Museum. He coached basketball for the YMCA Spring Girl's Basketball League for 10 years, and served as treasurer for the Odessa Softball Association. He also volunteers his time as a judge for the "Teen Court" program.

James is married to Mitchie, is the proud father of three daughters.
